Bucky Brooks updates Giants' pick in latest mock draft
The countdown is on as we inch closer and closerto the 2025 NFL Draft.
With pro days in full swing, NFL Network's Bucky Brooks releasedthe third edition of his mock draft, where we saw a change to his Giants' projection.
After having the Giants select quarterback Shedeur Sanders in last month's mock draft, Brooks now has Sanders going to the Browns at No. 2 with the Giants selecting his teammate at Colorado, Travis Hunter, at No. 3.
"Adding a two-way standout doesn't solve the Giants' most pressing need, but Hunter's playmaking presence would help the offense and defense improve," Brooks wrote.
Hunter's 2024 campaign was truly special as he played full-time on both sides of the ball. Not only was he out there on offense and defense, but he also excelled as both a cornerback and a wide receiver.
In the secondary, Hunter finished the season with four interceptions, 11 passes defensed, one forced fumble and 36 tackles (25 solo). According to Pro Football Focus, the 21-year-old allowed just 22 receptions for 212 yards and one touchdown in coverage across 13 games, which earned him a passer rating against of just 38.8.
Moving over to offense, the 6-foot-1, 185-pound athlete caught 96 passes for 1,258 yards and a whopping 15 touchdowns. While the receptions and yards finished within the top five in the nation, his 15 receiving touchdowns were the second-most.
In addition to winning the Heisman Trophy this past season, Hunter was also named the AP College Football Player of the Year, the Fred Biletnikoff Award winner (given to the nation's top wide receiver), the Big 12 Defensive Player of the Year, and Unanimous All-American, among numerous other accolades.
Hunter is considered by many analysts to be the top overall prospect in this year's draft.
Here are the first five picks in Brooks' latest mock draft.
