Wide receiver Taylor Gabriel announced his retirement from the NFL.

Late Friday, he posted a photo of himself on Twitter, lounging in a float in a pool, accompanied by the word "Retired."

Gabriel entered the NFL in 2014 as an undrafted free agent from Abilene Christian and spent two seasons each with the Cleveland Browns (2014-15), Atlanta Falcons (2016-17) and Chicago Bears (2018-19).

He signed a four-year, $26 million deal with the Bears in March 2018 and had his best season that year, catching 67 passes for 683 yards with two touchdowns in 16 games (11 starts).

The Bears cut him before the 2020 season, and he sat out the year.

Gabriel, 30, played in 83 games (31 starts) and had 228 receptions for 2,860 yards. He scored 15 touchdowns, including one rushing.
