EAGAN, Minn. - The Vikings now have a dozen selections in the 2020 NFL Draft, including a pair of first rounders, after finalizing their trade with the Bills that sent receiver Stefon Diggs and a seventh-round pick to Buffalo.

Minnesota received the No. 22 overall pick, plus a 2020 choice in the fifth round and sixth round, as well as a fourth-round pick in 2021.

The draft remains scheduled for April 23-25, but it will occur without public events that were initially planned with Las Vegas as the host.

Minnesota has drafted from the 22nd overall position of an NFL Draft just once before, tabbing receiver Percy Harvin in 2009. Coincidentally, Minnesota traded Harvin to Seattle and received the 25th overall pick to select cornerback Xavier Rhodes in 2013.

The Vikings received the 25th overall pick via a strength-of-schedule tiebreaker with Houston. Both teams finished 10-6 in the regular season and advanced to the same round of the playoffs. The 2019 strength of schedule for the Vikings was .477, compared to .520 for the Texans, putting Minnesota ahead of Houston.

Miami, which previously acquired Houston's pick in a trade, is scheduled to pick 26th.

The selection of Rhodes, whose contract was terminated on March 13, marked the sixth time in franchise history for the Vikings to pick a player from the 25th overall spot. The previous instances were as follows:

1970 John Ward, G, Oklahoma State

1974 Steve Riley, T, USC

1975 Mark Mullaney, DE, Colorado State

1976 James White, DT, Oklahoma State

2000 Chris Hovan, DT, Boston College

The Vikings have picked up a net of five picks for the 2020 NFL Draft since March 10 when Minnesota was awarded three compensatory selections.
